Download Festival 2012 acts announced

Donington has established a reputation as the spiritual home of Rock and Roll in the UK.  First Monsters of Rock and now its evil younger brother, Download Festival, have made Donington synonymous with the genre.

Last week Live Nation announced the last of the headline acts for the 2012 festival, which will take place Friday 8^th ‘til Sunday 10^th June.   Friday will see The Prodigy, Saturday Metallica and Sunday Black Sabbath taking centre stage; possibly the best line up Download has ever boasted. 

You might be wondering where Park Farm comes into all this.  Well, first off, the hotel is fully booked by the all-important production crew.  The caravan site is taken over by the ‘RIP’ ticket holders who benefit from the luxury of our facilities and truly Rest in Peace!  We really look after these guys - we lay on meals, a bar and even some classic metal tunes in the barn to offer them a little respite from the elements.   The year before last two of them even got married in our Hitching Room before heading out to the Festival with their guests for a truly rocking reception!

In short Download is always a pretty extraordinary weekend for us!  And when we’re not working hard looking after our guests most of us are in the festival enjoying it firsthand.  Bring on Download 2012, we can’t wait!
